In a Frankish deed, Duiven and Groessen are named for the first time.

Moated building on this site
The plot was surrounded by a moat — characteristic of an ecclesiastical estate of that period.
1777
New rectory designed by Langenberg
Pastor Heijendaal found the existing building in a dilapidated state. A new rectory was built to the specifications of master Langenberg.
1867
The current building constructed
Eclectic architecture typical of the second half of the nineteenth century. Municipal monument ever since.

From rectory to office
After the parish's departure, the building received a new purpose. Its character barely changed.
